Going Pro - It is really worth it

Just spent the last three days in lovely Melbourne (Australia) attending a seminar this month (March) entitled “Going Pro”.

The event was an internet marketing and business conference hosted by Ed Dale a Melbourne local and one of the world’s best online marketers.

Ed has been helping people to make their first dollar online since about 2005 with the 30 Day Challenge (now simply called the Challenge). I do the course every year in one way or another and find it to be an absolutely fantastic resource for both new comers and veteran’s alike.

This year’s conference in Melbourne read like a who’s who of the best internet marketing experts on the planet. The line up consisted of local experts like Ed Dale and Pete Williams – a finalist in Ernst & Young [click to continue…]

Australian Youth - Nothing to Worry About

As I write this quick post, it is the October in Australia during the New South Wales School Vacations season.

Recently while going about my day to day duties in my office as Web Developer, Mortgage Broker and Blog publisher and student of SEO, I happened to see the group of kids.. no, on second thought kids is not the right word.

This group of young adults who were enjoying themselves, dressed up and having an obvious good time in my patch of Wangi Wangi, in New South Wales (on Lake Macquarie in New South Wales Lower Hunter Region).

After watching the “antics” of this small group for a short time listening to their banter, (now don’t get me wrong, I don’t make a habit of eaves dropping, it is just they were… shall we say less than clandestine in their conversation). It occurred to me how Australia is really in safe hands as we hand over from one generation to the next.

We all hear stories of the increase in hooliganism and senseless violence carried out by young people around the globe. These stories are proliferated and sensationalised in the news media, and regardless of whether these kinds of stories are true or not. The people in this small demographic of our society, the thugs and malcontent’s do not represent the group of people who will lead over the coming decades.

These people on the fringes of civilised society will not be the Captains of Industry, they will not be the ones who cure cancer, they will not be receiving the Nobel Peace prize or doing anything worthwhile for themselves or anyone else for that matter any time soon.

So without straying further from my point, I tip my hat (if I wore a hat) to these young Australians, I wish them well with their future. Though somehow, I don’t think luck will play a big part in their climb to the top.

As most of us know, we all make our own luck. Luck is merely the product of opportunity crossing paths with preparedness, and the opportunity is there all the time.

Cheers

Jamie

Today I had some fun out the front of my Home Loan Shop (HunterWide Home Loans) in Wangi Wangi. I took part in the R.S.P.C.A.’s (Royal Society to Prevent Cruelty to Animals) latest fund raiser campaign “Cupcake Day” (2009). The actual event is scheduled for tomorrow (Monday 17th August) and is heralded as the biggest [...]
